Leadership Course

Last term ten year eight students took part in a leadership course at Whenua Iti, and learnt and gained leadership skills along with students from Dovedale and Mahana. This was a course they went to every Friday for four weeks, in those four weeks they did a lot of thrill seeking and teamwork activities.

SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES WE DID:

Planting trees. We did some tree planting.
This activity required teamwork and a lot of care.

The Flying Kiori where your team pulls you high in the
air. This activity required lots of communication and
 coordination.

The Trapeze where you jump of the post
and try to grab a bar but if you miss the rest
of the team will suspend you in the air because
there in total control of the ropes holding you.
This activity required lots of trust and communication.

High Wires where you walked across obstacles
high in the air. This activity required courage
  and commitment.

How exciting your team building activities looked. We can't wait until we are in year 8 so we can do similar things. Learning looks like such fun !
